Dan Nechita is a councilor of the Romanian prime-minister, his specialty being information systems and cyber-security. He graduated George Washington University in Washington, D.C. with an M.A. in International Relationships and Columbia University, New York with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science, in the latter working two years as well as an assistant researcher at the War and Peace Institute "Arnold A. Saltzman".
He worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the George Washington University, at the World Security Institute think tank - Global Zero initiative for nuclear disarmament, at the executive education centre in the Brookings Institution think-tank and an the ABC News television as a reporter and author for the political analysis newspaper, The Note. He was, as well, president of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholars association, representing Sandbox Network in Washington, D.C. and board member of Columbia Club of D.C.
