Dániel’s passion for advertising began more than 18 years ago at BBDO Budapest as a junior copywriter. Previously, he was the ECD of VML Budapest, currently he is the executive creative director of a full-service Hungarian indie agency, Mediator. Under his leadership the agency has been ranked as 3rd Best Creative Agency and the 2nd Best Media Agency in Hungary.
He is very proud to have been chosen as Creative of The Year 2025 in Hungary by Campaign Magazine.
Many local and international award-winning campaigns are tied to his name at major award shows like Clio, Cresta, Golden Drum, LIA, Effie, Epica, Eurobest, New York Advertising Festival to name a few. His campaign ‘The Sound of Matra’ created for Black Noise Festival won a Golden Drum Grand Prix in Digital Craft, a Clio Gold and many more. His latest campaign ‘Uncried Tears of Men’ was recognized with golds at Effie, CIPR, IPRA and Stevie Award.
Recently he had a chance to be on the jury of Golden Drum, Art Directors Club Europe, Kyiv International Advertising Festival and many local advertising festivals. Educating the future young creative talents is very important to him that’s why he gives advertising lectures at universities, judges many selection competitions held for young creatives like Young Lions. He is the co-founder of the Hungarian Ad Night.
Outside of being an ad dad, he loves to play basketball, run in the forest, take analogue photos and listen to hiphop music, hoping his son will also become a big fan of some of these. His family dog, Cashew the dachshund, follows him everywhere, except unfortunately to Bucharest, but Daniel hopes he has the same sense of sniffing out good ideas. He believes that simplicity is the key to ideation which goes hand in hand with deep cultural context and craft. I am looking forward to meeting the jury personally in the age of AI and having fun discussions about local works, and it is an honour to be the president of the jury this year.
